31 for 21 Day 7: Ordinary Moments

I think that one of the easiest things to do when your child is diagnosed with Down Syndrome is to immediately flash forward to the future. There are so many what-ifs that start brewing in your head. Not only are there what-ifs, you are SO far in the future that you are worrying what's going to happen when he is 30 years old.

Slowly as you go through time, you also move backwards from the future until you end up right where you are in the present.

As we started to get used to the diagnosis, the worries about the future started to fade a bit. Sure, I still think about it, but it's not as scary as it used to be.

...so for now, we just enjoy the ordinary moments.
