The School Day

I am so thankful that I am not the one that has to drive Colin and Kailey to school every day because it really tears on my heart strings. Even worse, I had to wake the kids up today and Colin was still groggy when we got in the car. When we got to the traffic light at the end of the road, Colin looked at me with a pouty face and said "home" over and over again. On top of that? He cried pretty hard when we got to school. Thankfully, I know they do ok during the day and are really happy where they are...

That is so hard to have to leave them. Glad you have a great place where they are thriving and happy!

I usually do pick up because it works better for us, but this week I'm doing drop off 4 of the 5 days due to my work schedule. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love to see Tommy interact with the kids when we arrive, and I cat chat with Miss Krissy and Miss Heather since they are gone when I do pick up and get the real story on recent incident reports. But Tommy gets a lot more clingy with me than John we've found. We have found that tickling him before we leave the room distracts him, as all the other kids jump in on the action. Monday I was in a rush and felt so guilty all day about not spending a little time there, but today I took my time since I'll be pretty late getting home. But I will take pick up any day over drop off!
