~ Smile ~

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for "listening" about our feeding issues with Colin I talked about in my last post. You guys gave so many great suggestions, or just showed your support and helped me get to a better point than I was at. Our issues mostly lie with the fact that Colin isn't using his hands yet to eat his food, but we did get a lot of helpful tips to practice this skill. I know I mentioned self-feeding with the spoon but we really don't expect him to be able to use it appropriately right now. We are more just overwhelmed with his lack of using his hands to pick up food and eat. However, as with everything else on this journey, it was a blip of overwhelming frustrations and we are back to practicing and working hard every day. Since that post, we have found a few new things that Colin enjoys eating including pizza (in the food processor!). I know it is going to take time but as you know, some days it just feels harder to handle...

This guy has been cracking us up lately! He loves to try and make anyone laugh and he has become quite the little mayor lately. He rides up to the beach in his wagon and says hi to anyone that will listen (or even those who aren't paying attention). He has been doing so many great things in other areas including using his legs a little bit more! It's exciting for us because up until this week, he would fight it to the point he would just lift his legs up when you tried putting him on the ground. He actually gets excited now to grab onto your hands and pull himself to a standing position (even though he doesn't bend his knees...quite funny). A "step" in the right direction!

I agree with Kelly, he will do it in his timing...don't they all =)
Have a great weekend.

He looks "too cool" in his shades!!! I wonder if he would hold and chew on a mesh feeder with food in it??? I obviously have NO experience with this but it would be interesting to see if he would feed himself with one of those since he wouldn't have to actually touch the food?! Just a thought! Have a great 4th!!!

I know how frustrating it can be with the feeding issues. Ours are a bit different but I'm sure our feelings are the same. One of these days our boys will surprise us and then we won't be able to stop them from eating everything. Good luck!!
