Reading my books

On the fireplace set up next to Colin's toy box are some of his books. Since Colin first started climbing, he has liked to climb up on the fireplace and sit and read his books. A lot of the time, the neatly arranged books end up in a pile on the floor in front of the fireplace, but when he is in the mood, he will sit and read his books quietly. It's fun to watch him with some of his picture books because he will sign when he recognizes a certain picture or say the word (which is really only ball, his favorite sound to make as well as his favorite toy to play with). The signing has been going great, I just wish it was a universal thing like words are so that everyone could understand what he was saying.

Look at the book I'm reading mom!

This is the "let me see your teeth" picture...

Mom, you're interrupting my reading! Notice the mohawk is starting to flop over because his hair is too long...the day of these pictures was the last day we could do the mohawk until we get his hair cut again.

The only thing we don't like that he does is bang his head on the doors to the fireplace. I'm not quite sure what the appeal is in doing this (maybe the sound?), but it's one of our biggest pet peeves!

In other news, no baby #2 yet, but hopefully soon!

Balls and books are Tommy's favorite things right now too - and EVERYTHING that is round is a ball - or at least that's what he tells us! As for the head banging, Tommy does that too. I thought I read somewhere that it was a coping mechanism for teething pain sometimes. Thinking of you these next few weeks and hope you have a quick and easy delivery of baby #2!

Such a cutie! Luc loves books too, he's bringing them to me all day long to read. Hopefully baby #2 will decide to come soon, I know it's hard to wait!
