As you said, evidence over decades has shown the positive benefits of being in an inclusive classroom and there isn't any evidence (that I have been shown) to show that being in a self-contained setting had a better outcome. Why, why, why are so many schools so stagnant at changing their mindset of how they do things? Why, why, why are we STILL having to advocate for a LRE to be more than just fine arts, lunch and recess. I'm so encouraged to read about the schools who ARE doing it right, I just wish for our kids' sake we both lived in such a district.
